Welcome

John Ferry works across painting and printmaking, exploring themes of journeys, memory and the psychological landscape. His work inhabits an ambiguous space between observation and imagination, where narrative remains open and unresolved.

Recent bodies of work have developed through sustained studio research into nocturnal imagery, mortality and transformation. Recurring motifs, including solitary figures, vessels, birds and liminal landscapes function as symbolic devices through which questions of presence, absence and human vulnerability are explored.

Working between painting and printmaking, Ferry employs processes of layering, revision and material experimentation that mirror the shifting nature of memory itself. The resulting works invite viewers into contemplative spaces where personal experience intersects with broader cultural and existential concerns.
